The United States slapped sanctions on Syrian President Bashar Assad and six senior Syrian officials for human rights abuses over their brutal crackdown on anti-government protests, for the first time personally penalizing the Syrian leader for actions of his security forces.
The White House announced the sanctions Wednesday, a day before President Barack Obama delivers a major speech on the uprisings throughout the Arab world. The speech is expected to include prominent mentions of Syria.
I feel like I am looking into a crystal ball right now. The US is just getting itself into a really deep hole and I think we may have forgotten the ladder. Now I am not saying these sanctions are right or wrong but they are not helping the tensions that are already building. I foresee WWIII coming, although I don't think I am the only one. I also do not see us having a lot of allies in this coming war, but lets all hope I am wrong on that note. Maybe this coming speech tomorrow President Barack Obama is going to give will shed a positive light on the matter.
